Our book, The German-Jewish Cookbook: Recipes & History of a Cuisine, was published in 2017 and is currently in its third printing! We – Sonya Gropman & Gabrielle Rossmer Gropman – co-wrote the book. It is the only cookbook about German-Jewish food. The book includes a brief history of Jewish culture in Germany over many centuries, memoir of life in Washington Heights, NYC (where Gabrielle grew up), interviews with German-Jews and Germans who recalled life (and food!) in Germany pre-World War II, and over 100 recipes. The book includes a foreword written by the late Nach Waxman founder of Kitchen Arts & Letters book shop in New York City, hand-drawn illustrations by Megan Piontkowski, photographs by Sonya Gropman, and food styling by Catrine Kelty.

The book is available for purchase from all the usual online book sellers, and in local bookstores (we support shopping local!)
